White House Decries 'Democratic Hoax' as More Epstein Estate Photos Disclosed
House Democrats have made public a additional set of what they described as "troubling" images from the property of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, including notably Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, and ex-UK prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
The opening batch of 19 images—some of which have been previously circulated—combined with another 70 unveiled later on Friday represent a small number of the approximately 100,000 images provided to the House oversight committee, which is probing the conduct and connections of Epstein.
The fallen money manager died by an apparent self-inflicted death in a New York prison cell in 2019 after being charged with sex-trafficking crimes.
High-Profile Individuals in the Images
Featured among the prominent personalities seen in the opening set are well-known figures such as film director Woody Allen; Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates; and Richard Branson, originator of the Virgin business group.
Donald Trump is pictured in three of the initial 19 images. In one, he is pictured with six women, whose faces are redacted.
White House Statement
The White House addressed the release in a statement, accusing Democrats of purposefully "hand-picking" the pictures for partisan aims and to "seek to establish a false account."
"That partisan falsehood against President Trump has been time and again refuted," a White House spokesperson said, asserting that "the current government has achieved more for Epstein's victims than Democrats ever have by consistently demanding disclosure, disclosing reams of records, and demanding further investigations into Epstein's Democratic associates."
Panel Member Comment
The photographs were released without context, but according to a Democratic representative from California and ranking member of the oversight committee, they raise more questions about Epstein's associations with wealthy individuals.
"The moment has come to halt this White House obfuscation and secure justice to the victims of Jeffrey Epstein and his well-connected allies," he said in a comment.
The release of these images occurs alongside the oversight committee proceeding with its investigation into the Epstein matter.
