It's week six of the football calendar , following recent talk regarding the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles as a potential Super Bowl match-up, each surrendered their perfect starts.
Notable in those games were the amount of infractions each committed. Philadelphia did so in key moments meaning they essentially beat themselves having led 17-3 going into the final quarter versus the Denver Broncos, set to play overseas this weekend.
But it was good to observe how Denver quarterback Bo Nix managed to have that deficit before lead three successful possessions in three attempts during the final period, to win the game 21-17.
Denver boast the top defender in cornerback their star corner. They rank first in goal-line defense, while Philadelphia lead the league in scoring near the end zone, and the Broncos won that contest.
They executed effective strategies in terms of disguised blitzes. They did not always sending extra pass rushers but they might position two LBs in the interior then drop them out and send a nickel off the edge.
Early on of the season, it was noted during a show how Denver could be this season's dark horses. They finished last season well and did a good job in continuing that momentum.
Could Denver be this season's underdog story?
New tight end Evan Engram has excelled big and new RB JK Dobbins is a player they believe in. He now ranks 5th in the NFL in ground gains (over 400) as well as tied-fourth in rushing scores (four).
It's impressive how the coach the Broncos' leader has "RUN IT!" prominently on his call sheet.
That shows that the Broncos represent a squad that wants to prioritize the run, since one can achieve much based on that approach. It slows opposing rushes and keeps you in favourable down and distances.
It's also benefited QB the young passer, who entered into the league as the 12th overall draft pick in the prior draft, throwing 29 touchdown passes – second only to a star QB for the rookie record (31 in 2020).
Other elite QBs have powerful arms to pass anywhere, but they don't move in the same way that Nix has. He has exceptional passing ability, a unique trait, plus he's so athletic.
His assets include his movement, being able to throw on the run, as well as using varied release points to make the pass as he moves outside protection, the bootlegs. He can deliver that layered pass over the middle or over the corner.
For a young quarterback, at 25, he's got great composure in the pocket and isn't really fazed by extra rushers. He tries to evade a sack as much as possible and is able throw in tight spots. He possesses a high football IQ and remains quick to decide.
If you constantly run the ball it eats up time and forces the defence to stay in play for longer, and when you've got an athletic quarterback the defense has to defend the field downfield side to side. This proves exhausting.
The quarterback has bitten back with the coach during games at times and I think Payton likes that fire, that he's a fierce rival. I think it's fun for him to coach a rookie QB who's similar to moldable clay. The coach can truly develop him how he wants to shape him. I think it's a unique opportunity for him.
Payton owns a Super Bowl and has surpassed Bill Parcells in all-time victories (173, tying for 14th). He's seen everything. In my opinion the success the Broncos are experiencing on offence is largely due to his guidance, his play-calling, his game sense – and the combination with Nix aids make him into who he is.
There's no better a more qualified person guiding you, to help you through some of the tougher situations and boost self-belief.
I have faith in the Broncos' defense, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. Yet is the team strong enough to face an elite team at full strength? Since that wasn't championship-level play from Philadelphia in their last game.
Right now, I don't think Denver are elite. They're performing better than most, that's a good place to hold the AFC West. The key to do to continue this trajectory.
They're really good at leaning into their forte, which is the ground game, and this is precisely what they should do against the Jets in London. It will likely be the JK Dobbins show, in essence.
New York have allowed 140 yards on the ground per game (sixth worst), five rushing touchdowns this season (in the bottom ten), and they are the sole squad yet to win any game.
Ever since the league started recording takeaways decades ago, this team are also the first team to go without any turnovers in five outings, this is surprising considering that the head coach Aaron Glenn a defensive coach at the Detroit Lions.
The Chiefs' QB stated the Chiefs have 'already lost too many games' after a recent loss by the Jaguars.
Following the upcoming matchup, Denver face a smooth-ish schedule up to their bye (in week twelve) - the Giants, the Cowboys, Houston Texans and Las Vegas Raiders before the Chiefs.
Looking at their division, Kansas City are 2-3 while Denver are even with the Los Angeles Chargers on 3-2 so they could make a run for the top of the division.
It depends on which form Kansas City shows up they face because Denver {beat|def
