Two Men Face Charges In Connection With Heathrow Alleged Pepper Spray Incident
Formal charges have been brought against two men in connection with a suitcase robbery where a suspected pepper spray led to people being hurt at the UK's busiest airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two robbery charges and two counts of using a harmful chemical, as confirmed by court officials.
This legal action stems from an probe of an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on the weekend. Earlier that day, two women were robbed of their suitcases stolen after getting out of a parking garage elevator, authorities reported.
A toddler was among those injured in the event. A total of five individuals required hospital care and were later discharged.
This event – described by police as was not part of a series and not being treated as terrorism – caused disruptions to rail services and the temporary blocking of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a limited duration.
