The Streaming Platform is Producing a Popular Game TV Show from the Creators of the Alien Series and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
The newest Far Cry game that audiences dived into was Far Cry 6, that starred Giancarlo Esposito as the bad guy, Antón, and came out on October 6, 2021. Throughout the franchise, it is famous for delighting in action and madness with equal glee, all while telling captivating, politically driven tales. Little surprise that the network’s decision for a Far Cry anthology series attracted two visionaries whose projects have represented all of those qualities.
Show Details
Based on Ubisoft's hit video game series, the limited anthology series will stream on Hulu and is being made by FX Productions. The series will also follow the video games' format by introducing a fresh backdrop and group of personalities in each season.
Key Producers
Rob Mac, mastermind of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the visionary behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will work as lead producers on the series via their production banners, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be partnered by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.
“FX has had excellent collaborations with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a combined six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are thrilled that they are teaming up for Far Cry,” commented Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a announcement. “I have no doubt that they will deliver this story in a way that is innovative, compelling, and incredibly entertaining. We also want to acknowledge our collaborators at Ubisoft for placing confidence in us with this beloved property.”
Upcoming Developments
Mac will also star in the show, but at the time of writing, we are unsure of what part that may be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was just approved for a second instalment, with FX and Disney finalizing a new long-term contract with the showrunner.
“Having the opportunity alongside Noah Hawley is a goal achieved,” remarked Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been exceptionally supportive, entrusting us with one of the most famous video-game universes ever created. And through it all, my FX team continues to lift me up with their ongoing trust and support.”
“What I love about the Far Cry game collection is that it’s an standalone series. Every title is a interpretation of a concept, the same way each season of Fargo is a version on a theme,” noted Hawley. “To create a epic action show that can evolve from year to year, while always exploring the nature of humanity through this complex and unpredictable viewpoint, is a long-held aspiration. I’m thrilled to collaborate with Rob and present our mutual bold, ambitious sensibility to the audience.”
A time frame for when we can anticipate the new Far Cry show has not been announced. The series will be available on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus internationally.
