Chiefs State They Are Aware of Domestic Violence Allegations Involving Wide Receiver Rashee Rice
The NFL franchise released a comment on Wednesday evening confirming they are aware of domestic violence allegations made public in social media posts by a ex-partner of wide receiver Rashee Rice and had been in communication with the league office.
The team did not mention the player specifically in their statement and stated they would have “no further comment at this time”.

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who also did not mention the athlete by name, posted a set of images on Instagram that appeared to show indicators of bodily harm. She did say the person involved was the parent of her kids, and reports indicate she has kids with the football player, whom the team selected in the second round.
Police Reports Reportedly Not on File
No police reports were available in the Kansas City suburb where the alleged abuse is said to have occurred.
Rice's Prior Off-Field Troubles
The receiver missed the initial part of this season due to an league-mandated ban for his involvement in instigating a multi-vehicle accident on a Texas roadway that resulted in multiple people hurt. He was sentenced a month of incarceration and probationary supervision after pleading guilty to felony charges.
Statistically, he concluded the year with 53 catches for 571 receiving yards and five TDs as the Chiefs finished 6-11 and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first occasion in a decade.
